Getting back now to look into my to-do list for the big day. Hoping for a great release this Christmas! ( We have a time set for the release but would like you guys to find it out for yourselves. The great Christmas suprise! ;) )

said Imran Ali of Jfusion in his blog

What does this mean??

Jfusion is a bridge that connect the most popular open source content management system with other softwares like VBulletin, phpbb3, mybb, and SMF. This project is revolutionary because the fireboard which is the core forum software that is compatible with Joomla is not as feature rich like lets say VB or phpbb.

All the forum software project are looking to develop portals for their forums and the CMS guys like drupal and php-nuke are looking to develop forums for their CMS.

Wordpress is coming up with its own forum software bbpress, While VB, SMF and phpbb are trying to design a CMS. All of these projects have to start from scratch so it would be difficult or time consuming. thats where I think a Jfusion comes in.

Killer Software

This would make Joomla the killer software that can make everything fall into place. If the Jfusion beta works then it means Joomla will be most powerful software available as it will have the one thing missing in its arsenal a powerful forum.

Its a race to the finish line literally with everyone looking to beat the other, but right now joomla is beating all the others because of this one software. Use it and say thanks to the Jfusion team, because they have just made joomla the killer software.

Open source matters :)

This was the dimension that most of the forum software’s like Vb.phpbb3 and SMF supported.

Gmail themes - colourful mailing

Gmail themes

I was surprised to login into gmail today. The surprise was the new themes option.Just a couple of days earlier they had released the new Video chat feature and today its the Gmail themes. It is no surprise that google is trying hard to get its free mailing service look uniqu

e with more visual enhancements as MSN its main rival has recently changed its theme.

All that is clear from these new features from two internet free email service giants are web design and aesthetics means more business or no business.

The best part is the themes are preconfigured all you have to do is just choose them. You also have a lot of themes to choose from, but my favourite theme has to be the graffiti.I just love the dark colour and the feel it gives to the mail box.

Here is the header and footer of graffiti theme for gmail. Great going google

Pixlr -Free Online Image Editor

you don’t need all the features in photoshop to design banner for your website or just want to add a caption to your photos. This a great online application for basic editing needs. It’s not for large RAW images or for printing. It is merely a tool for editing web images to be posted on blogs, news-sites, social networks like Facebook, Bebo, image sites like Flikr, Photobucket etc.

No need to spend hundreds of dollars to buy a software like photoshop or no need to install an open source software like GIMP.This is like a free online version of Photoshop with a less features.

This application is online and has most of the features that you need for a quick editing work.Yes its nowhere near the capabilities of a photoshop but most of the design don’t require all the feature in photoshop.

Well the performance of the application needs a special mention it loaded up instantaneously with out any problems. I tried using it with both firefox and opera and had no problem with either of them. But the new images that you want to edit loads in their sever and then you need to edit it so it takes a bit of time.

Overall its a good free online tool that anyone can use for Image Editing

The application is developed by a Swedish team. The most part is by a developer named Ola Sevandersson ola@pixlr.com

Behind the design

As always, here are some insights from the designer herself:

“This is my first avatar set that I made from scratch using Adobe Fireworks CS3. My inspiration for the set were the avatars made by Iconka. After seeing how they made it look easy with a different program, I had to try it with Fireworks.

I’ve done vector graphics before, using Flash and Photoshop, but this set was a learning experience for me. The reason why I used Fireworks is because we only had one copy of Adobe CS3 Web Premium, and my officemate already uses Photoshop on his computer. I made this initially as a set of profile images for use by our client, but it eventually evolved into something more personal.

So everyone using this wonderful Icon set must say thanks to Dante for her efforts

Yes!! The premium Wordpress theme label has decided to go open source. The decision was made by Brain Gardber the CEO of the revolution themes.

So as of November 1st 2008 Revolution themes have gone Open source. What it means is that Brain and Jason schuller of WP Elements will be teaming up and giving us new themes under GPL license.

These themes are free to use and a new website will be laucnhed to support these themes. But support and customisations of themes will be charged.

So every one can look forward to a Free Premium themes or should I say freemium themes.

Kudos for the revolution theme team
